Platform Sweden is a digital platform that promotes Sweden-Qatar relations and interactions. A dynamic platform for sharing information to stakeholders on both sides. By focusing on areas such as energy, telecom, sustainability, technology, healthcare, mobility, life science, retail and education, we hope that Platform Sweden will facilitate and promote relationship building with an aim to ultimately generate more trade and investments between Sweden and Qatar.

Sustainability

Sweden is a global leader in sustainability, driven by a combination of historical, cultural, economic, and policy factors. The country has achieved significant economic growth while reducing carbon emissions and limiting pollution.
 
Sweden aims to be fossil-free and generate 100% renewable energy by 2045, leveraging its abundant hydropower and bioenergy resources. It excels in cleantech innovation, waste management, and sustainable transportation, with significant investments in electrifying transport and modern infrastructure. Citizen engagement and public awareness of eco-friendly practices are crucial, supported by comprehensive recycling systems and advanced research institutions.

It is my great pleasure to welcome you to Platform Sweden, a digital platform designed to strengthen connections and create new opportunities between Sweden and Qatar.

Our two countries enjoy a strong and growing relationship, built on dialogue, mutual interests and increasing exchange across government, business, academia and society. Economic cooperation is an important part of that relationship, creating opportunities not only for trade and investment, but also for deeper partnerships, knowledge exchange and long-term collaboration.

Platform Sweden is designed to support this by making it easier to discover what opportunities exist, who to connect with and how to take the next step.

Sweden brings internationally recognised strengths in innovation, technology, advanced industry, life sciences and the knowledge economy, supported by close collaboration between business, academia and the public sector. Qatar, in turn, is an important economic and diplomatic partner, with strengths across energy and investment and a strong focus on life sciences, research and innovation, technology and AI, as part of its broader economic diversification and knowledge economy.

There is considerable potential to bring these strengths and ambitions together.

Through Platform Sweden, we want to encourage more Swedish companies, organisations and institutions to explore Qatar as a market and long-term partner. Equally, we invite Qatari businesses, investors and organisations to discover opportunities in Sweden, from trade and investment to research, innovation, education and talent exchange.
