QATAR–SWEDEN
BUSINESS COUNCIL

Qatar–Sweden Business Council (QSBC) is an industry-led platform for enhancing trade and investment ties between Sweden and Qatar. The formal launch of the Qatar–Sweden Business Council (QSBC) in Doha on 11 September 2025 was an important milestone on the path towards building this long-term platform for structured dialogue and partnership between Swedish companies and their Qatari counterparts.

QSBC was inaugurated during the official visit of H.E. Benjamin Dousa, Sweden’s Minister for International Development Cooperation and Foreign Trade, who led a senior delegation of government officials and business leaders to Doha. The visit also marked the first anniversary of the first official visit of the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, to Sweden.

From Momentum to Structure

The establishment of QSBC reflects the growing business partnership between Sweden and Qatar. It builds on Sweden’s brand pillars of trust, innovation, and collaboration, and supports Qatar’s goals for diversification, sustainability, and digital transformation under Vision 2030.

Trade between Qatar and Sweden has continued to expand during the past years, supported by Qatar’s open investment environment and Sweden’s strengths in sustainable technologies, digitalization and innovation. QSBC provides a structure to translate this momentum into an institutional framework.

Platform Sweden will continue to highlight the progress of QSBC, including new opportunities, projects, and partnerships in the field of trade and investments.
